We released our announcement of our second phase of expansion on Friday. We are taking over R & L furniture store. We will have Carson City Barbell Club and Olympic Lifting, Private and Semi-private classes and a place for kids. (Read new kid policy)
Carson City Barbell will be open to non CrossFit members and will be offered to current CCCF members for an additional fee. Lief will be talking to those that have shown in interest in the barbell club and the skills needed in the weeks to come.
New kid area- we have arranged with one of our members to provide child care at the box. We will be providing her phone number and you will need to arrange ahead of time with her the date, time and payment. She will be available during all class times for CCCF and the Studio. You will need to pay her directly and make all arrangements with her. $3-$5 a kid depending on age.
We are no longer able to have kids in the lobby area and all kids will need to be supervised in the new kid friendly spot. We hope this will allow people in the community and opportunity to workout and bring their kids.
New Kids in the Box!
We will be hosting our second throwdown on June 22nd for the New Kids in The Box!.
This is not a competition for the Fire Breathers. If you have a 4:00 minute Fran, you definitely wouldn’t qualify as a newbie. You will need to be familiar with all barbell movements. The loads will be moderate weight. Talk to your coach if you think you have doubts. We hope to have a good showing of CCCF athletes as we are the hosting box and the Fittest of the Sierra will be the weekend before. We expect this event to sell out quickly and have 50 tickets for men and women. The link will be live at 800am Monday. We have a third party handling tickets…. so don’t wait as we can’t hold a spot for any of our members.
We will have the parking lot blocked off with local vendors. Artisan Cafe will be selling food. We are looking at Progenix, Dutch Bros and others. If you have a local business and want a booth, email Jill.
We are also looking for judges and volunteers for this event. We will have a link on our website.
We are expecting a huge turn out and will need help with judging, and volunteers all day.
Thursday March 28th at 7:30 join us at the brewery to say good bye to Rune and Ann as they head back to Norway. We will for sure miss them.
CCCF Endurance team is headed in to week 2 in training. If you want to be added to the group let us know.
March 30th our very own Liz will be performing in the Vagina Monologue a benefit to raise awareness for domestic violence.

April 21st- is our 2nd Birthday Party. If you were around last year you know how much fun we had. This year we will have a potluck again and introduce all of our Shredders and have the official way in and announce the winner. The winner will get a free membership until December 2013. Please support the shredders. Tiffani has arranged with Salon to do little mini makeovers the day before.
The Studio is a great way to workout any of these tight spots the Open has left on our bodies. As Well as adding physical and mental stability.
Most of the coaches have added yoga a few times a week and are seeing the benefits. (Lief too). Talk to your coach for the inside scoop. We have four different teachers and now lunch time yoga one day a week. We are looking to do a teen yoga class on Thursday or Fridays in the future.

We have started a small library in the Studio of books that we have collected and are available to borrow just leave us a note. If you have any fitness, yoga or cookbooks you want to donate that would be great.
